Mircea cel Batran Boulevard in Chisinau’s Ciocana sector will be extended. Additionally, the trolleybus line passing through the neighborhood will be extended to Bucovina Street. The project presented by the Chisinau Mayor’s Office is expected to be completed in 30 months, IPN reports.

During the presentation, Deputy Mayor Ilie Ceban said that the project will improve traffic in the area. Motorists will no longer have to drive around Milescu Spătarul Street and exiting the city will become easier as well.

The street extension, as well the trolleybus line extension to Bucovina Street, will also come with the construction of a dispatch center, a roundabout, street lighting and parking lots.  

According to Ilie Ceban, a tender process to identify contractors will be launched in two or three weeks. An amount of 240 million lei has been earmarked in the municipal budget for this project.
