AIESEC helps young persons start a business

The youth organization AIESEC Chisinau launched the innovative project ICO to support the students that want to start a business, Info-Prim Neo reports. The project will be implemented in Chisinau during May 8-20. According to the regulations of the project, there will be selected 50 students from all the universities of the country that filed an application for participation. During the launch of the project at Info-Prim Neo Agency on April 24, the ICO coordinator Valentin Jora said that the project will focus on the development of the practical entrepreneurial skills of the young people and their connection with the business environment. “The project includes a series of training courses on different topics like the business idea and business plan, organizational leadership and team management, financing opportunities, study of the legislation, including also cases studies,” the project coordinator said. The training courses will be taught by specialists from local companies – CICO, Pro Consulting, Casa de idei Imago, Magenta Consulting - and by international trainers. As part of the project, the participants will draw up their own business plans so that they could later take part in the contest providing full financing for the business. In addition, the jury will offer money awards to the participants that will rank second, third and fourth. “The most important aspect of the project is the possibility of doing internship at an international company in one of the 107 countries that are members of AIESEC,” said Anastasia Russu, project coordinator for AIESEC. Adrian Smolnintchi, representative of Casa de idei Imago, which is the partner of the project, considers that AIESEC is a serious partner in supporting the young people. “The students must be stimulated to remain in the country and start their own businesses,” Smolnitchi said. The ICO is carried out for the second time. The first project named Business Start was implemented in 2008. Forty-five students from Chisinau took part in the project that financed three business ideas. AIESEC is the world's largest student organization present in 107 countries and territories. In 2008, AIESEC Moldova was named the most active youth NGO in Moldova.
