Another 406 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Moldova on August 23, 31 of which among healthcare workers. All of them are local transmission cases. Five more persons succumbed to COVID-19, taking the death toll to 940, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, 1,438 tests for COVID-19 were done in total today, 1,097 of which were primary tests, while 341 were rerun tests.

As many as 575 patients are in a serious state and 34 of them were put on a ventilator. Another 304 persons got cured and were discharged from the hospital. As many as 23,262 persons have been cured of COVID-19 so far.

Moldova has got 33,478 infections with the novel coronavirus by now.
