A young woman aged 19 died on September 30 after developing complications caused by the novel coronavirus. The girl was being treated at the Călărași District Hospital and suffered from obesity, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Health, 24 persons diagnosed with COVID-19 succumbed on September 30. As many as 1,553 new cases were confirmed the same day.

Of the 2,185 persons confirmed with COVID-19 who are now hospitalized, 156 are in a very serious state and 20 of these were put on a ventilator.

Moldova has got 294,392 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
