Sheriff ended the 2020-2021 season of the National Division with 99 points, having 32 victories, three draws and a defeat. The team from Tiraspol in the last stage drew for the second time this season, against Dacia-Buiucani, 1-1, IPN reports.
Bizjak opened the score in the 57th minute, but Dacia tied six minutes later after the own goal of Arboleda. After the match played in Tiraspol, the players and the technical staff of the team were awarded gold medals. The president of the Moldovan Football Federation Leonid Oleinicenco handed over the Winners’ Cup. Sheriff won the title of national champion for the 19th time.
In the final of Moldova’s Cup, Sheriff plays Sf. Gheorghe Suruceni. The match will take place at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau on May 30, starting at 8pm.
The team from Tiraspol possesses ten Cups and Seven Super Cups of Moldova, being the Moldovan football club with the largest number of won titles.
