National Awards winners announced


The Government today approved the winners of the 2021 National Awards, following a secret vote by a special jury.

One of the 2021 National Awards goes to plastic artist Ghenadie Jaloba, for remarkable creative achievements and for promoting national culture.

Petru Neamțu, art director and head conductor of the Folk Music Orchestra “Folclor”, gets the Award for remarkable achievements in promoting folklore and developing music.

Olympian Anastasia Nichita was awarded for her remarkable achievements in wrestling and for promoting Moldova’s image abroad. Her coach Tudor Cîrlan also received the 2021 National Award.

Writer and poet Maria Șleahtițchi got the Award for her volumes “Fragile” and “Iubirea noastră e o doamnă frumoasă”.

Writer and journalist Vitalie Ciobanu is awarded for the volume “Zilele după Oreste”, and the Mihai Eminescu Theater got a collective award for prodigious activity.

Each year the Government offers up to ten National Wards for remarkable achievements that significantly contributed to the development of sciences, technology, culture, arts, and sports.
