Moldovan violinist Patricia Copacinschi described as “extremist in music”

The National Radio of Bulgaria (БНР) presented Patricia Copacinschi, the daughter of exceptional Moldovan folk music instrumentalist Victor Copacinschi, as “the most emotive violinist of our times”. She is also called an “extremist in music” owing to the unrepeatable sound of her violin and her unique performance, IPN reports.

On the occasion of the concert broadcast today, Patricia stated for БНР that “the people focus on perfection and glaze. Everyone wants a perfect cake ready for being served on the stage. I act in a different way. I bring the components and make a cake in front of everyone,” she said, being inspired by her two big passions - violin and cooking.

Patricia Copacinschi was born in Chisinau in 1977. After she emigrated with her family to Austria in 1989, she studied violation at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. In 2000, she won the Henryk Szeryng contest in Mexico, while in 2002 – the international award for young singers instituted by the Credit Suisse Group. Two years later, Patricia won the Musical Debut award of Eurovision, while in 2006 – the sponsorship award “Förderpreis Deutschlandfunk“. She also won the recording award at “Gramophone” and the “EchoKlasik” award and was nominated for “Grammy” in 2014, said the Bulgarian radio station.
