Law enforcement officers carried out searches at the house of the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ), Ion Druță. "Only his family members have returned to the country. An International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff team led by Mr. Ruben Atoyan will visit Chişinău during October 2 - 8, 2019. This is a fact-finding mission to update on recent economic developments and discuss the authorities’ policies to maintain macroeconomic and fiscal stability, including in the context of the state budget for 2020.

In the case of Buiucani accident the head of the Chisinau Electric Transport Authority, Dorin Ciornîi, said that, according to the trolleybus driver, he had stopped at the red light. After the green light was on, the trolleybus started to circulate, when the driver felt a strong blow from the right, the trolleybus being projected onto the sidewalk. Dorin Ciornii also says that there were no people on the sidewalk and that all the people who had suffered were from the trolleybus and the car. The driver of the trolleybus suffered no injuries. The conductor and 18 passengers were transported to the hospital. According to the updated information following the accident a man died, the passenger from the car, while the 33-year-old woman, who was behind the wheel, is in serious condition, in the intensive care unit. In all 24 people, including a minor, needed medical care.

SA „Termoelectrica” will offer three free heating subscriptions at a  raffle organized on the occasion of Chișinău annual fete/Hram. In the raffle can participate Chișinău municipality dwellers connected to the central heating system who have paid all their heating bills. The winners will be selected on 14 Octomber, at „Termoelectrica” JSC stand, located at the entrance to Europe square in Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Public Garden. Registration for raffle will start at 10.00 and end at 15.50.

During the ski season charter flights from Moldova to Bulgaria could be organized. This has been stated by the National Television of Bulgaria (BNT), with reference to the counsellor of the Bulgarian Embassy in Chisinau Bronislav Denev. According to the diplomat, the mission has endorsed this kind of winter transfers. This is owing to the fact that recently, the source says, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov maintained that the state could subsidize charter flights.

The fifth edition of the "Chisinau International Marathon", held on Sunday in the capital, gathered thousands of participants. Beginner runners, professional athletes, wheelchair athletes and record-setters from Moldova and abroad came to the Great National Assembly Square. The winners received money gifts and prizes. The athletes were supposed to complete one of the three distances of their choice: 10 km, 21 km or 42 km.

Eight long-term observers and a five team core members of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) will monitor the October 20 local elections in Chisinau, without monitoring the concurrent snap parliamentary elections in four constituencies. “ENEMO operates in full compliance with international standards for election observation. We will deploy our observers in order to contribute towards a more transparent electoral process in Moldova. All ENEMO observers have signed the Code of Conduct for International Election Observers,” stated the head of the Mission Dritan Taulla.
