“God’s ten commandments” memorial to be exhibited in Chisinau’s Cathedral square

An international contest for designing the sculpture work „God’s ten commandments” will be organized between July and November, according to the decision of the Chisinau Municipal Council. The Charity Foundation „Treiunial” will finance the contest. According to Boris Ciobanu, the chairman of the Foundation and People’s Movement „Armonia spirituala” (Spiritual Harmony), God’s commandments will be shaped in natural stone in the languages of all ethnics living in Moldova, as well as in Hebraic, English, French, and Italian – on the whole 15 languages. They will be exhibited in the square of the central Cathedral “Nasterea Domnului”. While designing the architectural concept of the sculpture it will be taken into consideration the best architectural-artistic traditions of the Moldovan blazonry, as well as international ones. The interim mayor Vasile Ursu, Maria Biesu, chairman of the Musicians’ Union, Liubomir Iorga, People’s Artist, as well as representatives of many ethnics will run the jury. The contest will be held under the supervision of the mayoralty of Chisinau municipality, Plastic Artists’ Union of Moldova, and the organizational part will be managed by the General Architecture and Urbanism Department, Culture Department, as well as the Public Committee of the People’s Movement „Armonia spirituala”.
