Financial education provides a range of skills and tools to help us better understand how to manage our budget, what banking options we can choose depending on our needs, and how the financial field generally works. The maib team passionately believes that financial education should start from an early age in an interactive, inventive and fun way.

Several years ago, with this idea, maib started a project to organise public financial education lessons for schoolchildren. The lessons took off in 2022, evolving, and from the beginning of 2023 to date, 21 such sessions have been held, with over 500 participants.

Initially, those eligible to participate were between 8 and 11 years old, but recently, lessons have become available for children up to the age of 14. As part of the program, young learners can tour maib park, which lasts about 30 minutes.

After that, the lesson lasts about an hour and a half, and maib specialists discuss several topics: curiosities about maib, the evolution of money, payment tools, opportunities to use the maib junior card and interactive financial education games.

Tatiana Cojuhari, maib training and development specialist:

"The children are very impressed by the visits to maib park, the new information they receive, the games and the surprises we offer at the end.

We plan to continue this initiative with older age groups. We are also open to all requests to organise lessons, including for children who want to visit us across the country".

Elena Erizanu-Pînzari, teacher, IPLT „Alexandru Ioan Cuza”:

"The pupils of the III grade of IPLT "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" visited maib park, where they participated in a lesson on financial education on their understanding. It was an interactive lesson, through games, about how money appeared, what money is and what it is used for, the importance of saving and ways to spend money correctly. The children also learnt how to open a maib junior card with their parents."

Children up to 14 can participate in maib's financial literacy lessons by applying to
