PCRM can no more influence decision making at upper level
Political analyst Vitali Catana believes that Vladimir Voronin's statements about the steps that the Communist Party will take if the head of state is not elected by November 28 are dramatic. In a news conference, the Communist leader said the PCRM expects until it will be a year of the parliamentary elections. “We will then take not only the required, but also non-required measures that must be taken,” he stated. Asked by Info-Prim Neo to interpret Vladimir Voronin's statements, analyst Vitali Catana said the PCRM tried thus to show that it is powerful and influential. “It 's all show. The PCRM cannot actually influence decision making at upper level. If it had had instruments of pressure, the party would have used them long ago,” said Vitali Catana. The analyst considers that from political viewpoint, Vladimir Voronin's statements are irresponsible and lack political discernment. “Mister Voronin makes theatrical gestures as he cannot influence things. Like Mihai Ghimpu, he says he has an ace in the hole, but does not have it in reality,” Vitali Catana said.
