Maia Sandu after EPC Summit: Today we showed our power and unity

“Today, here, 20 kilometers from Ukraine, we reunited the whole continent to reaffirm our collective and firm decision to bring peace in Europe. Today we showed our power and unity in a moment in which the stability of our continent is in danger. We showed that we are united against the largest military aggression since World War II and against the violation of international law,” President Maia Sandu stated in a closing news conference, IPN reports.

The official noted that at the EPC Summit they discussed the security issue, the need to protect the European continent from war, aggression and hybrid threats. “We agreed that we will continue the efforts to integrate our continent for greater strategic cooperation, better connectivity and increased action in terms of energy, resilience, and climate,” stated President Sandu.

According to her, the sides also agreed to step up the joint efforts so as to enhance the security and cybernetic resilience of the critical European infrastructure, including electricity networks.

“Our joint measures will bring closer together our European family. This will make Europe more powerful and safe. We all admitted that this European Political Community that was based on the success of the first meeting in Prague is a unique occasion for dialog and for bilateral relations,” said Maia Sandu.

The third EPC Summit will take place in Spain.
