An antitank mine was found by employees of public utility services in the basement of an apartment building in Glodeni town during repair works on April 14. The dwellers of the building were evacuated, while the mine was taken out of the town and disposed of by a controlled explosion, IPN reports.
The police evacuated the dwellers and collected the mine with the assistance of the Bomb Squad of the General Police Inspectorate. The explosive that looked like an antitank mine TM 62 that contains 8 to 12 kg of TNT was transported out of Glodeni and destroyed in safe conditions.
The police recommend the population not to touch explosive devices if they discover such and to immediately call the 112 Service.
