The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection on January 6 reported 8,872 active cases of COVID-19. The number of infections confirmed in Moldova since the start of the pandemic so far stands at 147,800. As many as 569,600 tests have been done by now, IPN reports.
According to the updated information, almost 136,000 persons have recovered after contracting the infection. Also, 268 patients are in a very serious state. The death toll rose to 3,088.
The weekly data show the number of cases of COVID-19 in Moldova between December 20 and January 3 declined by 28.5%. Officials of the Ministry warn the virus is aggressive and it is important to see a doctor on time so as to detect the infection early.
