Zimbru beat Codru 3-1 in the first match of the fifth stage of the National Division. This is the first victory won by the “yellow-greens” this season so far, IPN reports.
Before the break, Zimbru was led by 0-1 after the goal scored by Albanian player Aleksander Dhamo. At the beginning of the second half, the hosts tied with a penalty kick transformed by Vadim Chemyrtan, who celebrated his birthday on the day of the game. In the 49th minute, Japan’s Itsuki Kurata scored an own goal and the final scoreline was set by fullback Ștefan Burghiu in the 60th minute.
“What is important is that we won, but our game still needs to be improved,” said the coach of Zimbru Vlad Goian.
Two more matches of the fifth stage are to be played today, July 22. Florești meets Speranța, while Petrocub faces Dacia-Buiucani.
