Ruslan Codreanu: Certainly there could have been mistakes, but not 1200 signatures
Chisinau Electoral Constituency Electoral Council refused to register Ruslan Codreanu in the electoral race for the capital's mayoralty. 1200 of the 10454 signatures submitted by Ruslan Codreanu were invalidated. "It was difficult to collect signatures asking people to present personal data. Many people refused to give the series of their identity card. These signatures were collected through parks; people wrote while standing. Certainly there were mistakes, but not 1200 signatures. 100, 200, let’s say 300, but not 1200 ", declared Ruslan Codreanu, after the CECEC decision.
Ruslan Codreanu also stated that he will go to court to contest the CECEC decision.
Victor Chironda explains how he will get Chisinau out of the traffic chaos
Victor Chironda, the candidate of "New Force" Social-Political Movement for the position of general mayor of Chisinau municipality, promises the development of a qualitative and efficient public transport network and another of accessible and comfortable sidewalks. During a press conference, the candidate stated the inhabitants of the capital waste more than two hours daily for traveling through the city by public transport, that does not always arrive on time because it gets stuck in traffic jams.
Victor Chironda argues that his priority as head of the City Hall will be the creation of lanes dedicated to public transport and the sidewalks. Public transport and pedestrian infrastructure are the two elements that can get Chisinau out of the traffic chaos. We know and can do these things,” says Victor Chironda.
The candidate admits that the reforms he wants to initiate, as general mayor of the capital, are unpopular, but necessary. Victor Chironda says he will initiate the process of building lanes dedicated to public transport even from the first month of activity, so that they could appear on the main crowded streets of Chisinau in at least one year.
