The recreational spaces on Maria Drăgan Street and Mircea cel Bătrân Boulevard, 29, which are renovated, will be put into operation by the end of August.
The rehabilitation of the square in Maria Drăgan street involves the use of a 1.2 hectare space, with a panoramic view over the city. A railing of two hundred meters was installed there. The location combines green spaces, a pedestrian area and urban furniture. Also, three sightseeing telescopes, along with playgrounds, will be installed.
As a result of an auction, the cost of the works is 3 million lei.
In the Mircea cel Bătrân square, the boundaries of the pedestrian alleys have been set and paving works will start soon. The rehabilitation of the area also involves the installation of decorative public lighting and urban furniture. The recreational space includes a playground for children. The project is 60% complete.
The public space has a 0.9 hectare area and has been secured after the evacuation of more than 50 metal individual garages. The cost of the works, following the auction, is 1.8 million lei.
The rehabilitation of both squares was decided by Ciocana sector residents, following a survey conducted online.
Upon completion, the spaces will be managed by the Ciocana Sector Head’s Office and by municipal enterprises, said the head of the General Directorate of Housing and Planning, Ion Burdiumov.
