The participants in World War II will get a state monthly allowance of 1,250 lei, up from 950 lei at present. A decision to this effect was adopted by Parliament, IPN reports.
The allocation is intended for persons who did their military service as part of the operations army and partisan detachments and groups, persons held in Nazi concentration camps, widows of Heroes of the Soviet Union, persons who worked as civil employees in the operations army during World War II and others.
A number of 189 persons will receive such an allowance each month. The decision will be implemented at a cost of 793,800 lei. The legislative amendments will take effect when they are published in the Official Gazette.
