Cultural heritage promoted through international project

The NGOs that focus on the preservation of the country’s cultural heritage can apply to take part in the two-year international project CHOICE, which is financed by the EU and which will be implemented simultaneously in four EaP countries: Moldova, Armenia, Ukraine, and Belarus, IPN reports.

The goal of the project is to support nongovernmental cultural organizations and professional associations to implement innovative projects to protect the cultural heritage. “The project includes a program of small grants for projects aimed at updating the cultural heritage.  The initiators of the project will support innovative approaches and initiatives designed to include the heritage in the modern life of society,” said Valeria Suruceanu, head of the National Committee ICOM Moldova, which is the project’s local partner.

The CHOICE project covers a wide range of themes. The participants can designs maps and itineraries of cultural facilities and mobile applications, can take part in local planning or can suggest ideas that will influence the local and national cultural processes. “This project allows establishing partnerships between public associations and institutions that protect and conserve the cultural heritage,” said Svetlana Pociumban, senior consultant at the Ministry of Culture.

The project’s budget for the four participating countries is €480,000. The selected initiatives will benefit from €3,000 to €60,000 in financing.
