Silvia Radu made official approaches to complete her duties at the Chisinau City Hall, IPN reports.
On a social networking site, Silvia Radu wrote that she thanks the residents of Chisinau who cast their ballots, especially those who voted for her. She noted she wants things to really change in Chisinau and this is the reason why she decided to run for the mayoralty and worked hard as an acting mayor during the past five months.
“The citizens should demand that the future mayor should work for the city and leave politics aside. Only this way, will we have real changes in the city. I tell you with certitude that good things can be done in the city, if there is will and involvement on the part of the mayor,” wrote Silvia Radu.
She also said she learned many useful things while serving as acting mayor and was able to better know the inhabitants of Chisinau. She will continue to support the modernization of the capital city within her future activities as well.
Running as an independent in the May 20 early mayoral elections, Silvia Radu polled 17.65% of the vote. The runoff vote that will be held in two weeks will involve Ion Ceban of the Party of Socialists and Andrei Nastase of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”.
