Secretary of state: We hope we will get first tranche of EU assistance in autumn

Moldova could receive the first tranche of the financial assistance from the European Union, as part of the new bilateral cooperation program, in autumn already, secretary of state at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tatiana Molchan stated in a public debate at IPN titled “European integration of the Republic of Moldova, myth or reality?”.

The official said the first tranche of €50 million will be provided in the form of a loan in very advantageous conditions.

The second tranche of €50 million is contingent on the fulfillment of a number of conditions that refer to the justice sector, further improvement of the state procurement system, in particular in public healthcare, the Customs Code and the measures aimed at stimulating the declaring of the real value of property.

The new financial support program of the EU is designed to support Moldova and other countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.
