The companies can be exposed to discriminatory actions or to be deprived of the protection of the countries were they activate. According to the research, in 2006, the main possible risks regarding the Republic of Moldova are economic instability, fluctuation of the currency, the sovereign non-payment, and political interference. The European countries that were placed in the list of medium high risk countries after Moldova and Albania are Ukraine, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. Russia, Romania and Bulgaria are consideret to be medium risk countries. The Aon rating is used not only for calculating the cost of the insurances, but is also a decision instrument for foreign investors and companies involved in the international commerce.
