The Party of Socialists (PSRM) decided to support in the Parliament’s standing commissions the draft budgetary-fiscal policy, state budget and social insurance budget for 2021 that were approved by the Cabinet. The subject was discussed by the Socialist parliamentary group in a meeting that involved incumbent President Igor Dodon on December 1, the party noted in a press release that is quoted by IPN.
According to Igor Dodon, the given laws should be adopted by the end of this year so that they are promulgated and come into force on January 1, 2021. “Leaving the country without the main financial-budget laws would be a big irresponsibility towards the people when the state budget law also envisions pay raises in the public sector as from January 1. Fiscal improvements were also planned to contribute to people’s welfare and business development,” stated Igor Dodon.
The Socialist parliamentary group also said that it is ready to support a Cabinet proposed by President-elect Maia Sandu, if this consists of professionals, and they urge to start discussions with all the parliamentary groups on the issue.
