The price of a liter of gasoline COR 95 on Tuesday will exceed 25 lei. The National Agency for Energy Regulation announced a rise of 0.22 lei for gasoline. The price of diesel fuel will increase by 0.17 lei and will cost 24.69 lei/liter on January 24, IPN reports.
According to the Agency, the Platts oil quotations continue rising conspicuously amid market expectations related to the coming into force of the EU decision to renounce Russian oil derivatives.
“Besides the EU’s embargo on Russian crude oil supplies that took effect last yearend, a new ban, on the purchase of fuel made from Russia crude oil, is to come into force on February 5. According to foreign experts, a stabilization of the regional oil market can be seen only after the production sources and supply chains that satisfy the fuel needs in the European states are reorganized given the new conditions generated by the Russian military aggression in Ukraine,” the Agency noted in a press release.
Consequently, in the last session the Platts quotations for gasoline rose to about 900 $/tonne, while for diesel fuel to about 980 $/tonne, these being the highest levels the past ten weeks.
