The police said that three public events are to be held today, July 16, in central Chisinau in the form of protests. The police urge to obey the imposed restrictions so as to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus and altercations between the participants and not to endanger the health and safety of the people in the community, IPN reports.
Under a decision taken by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission, the organization of rallies is allowed only if these involve fewer than 50 persons and if the public health measures are obeyed. Meetings cannot be held near public, education institutions, hospitals or other places with an increased risk of infection.
“As the organizers announced the presence of a larger number of persons, we note that this is a violation of the provisions of the aforementioned decision that generates a danger to public health and is thus reason for holing the persons to blame accountable,” the General Police Inspectorate said in a press release.
The police call on the inhabitants of the capital city to avoid traveling by units of transport along Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd, in the perimeter of the streets S. Lazo and V. Pârcălab, between 9:00am and 5:00pm on July 16.
Among the preliminary statements published on the website intruniri.chisinau.md is that of the initiative group “Veterans’ Force” that plans to mount a protest in front of the Parliament Building against the Government’s and Parliament’s lack of reaction to the social demands formulated by war veterans.
Also, Tatiana Nechit and Svetlana Cuparan intent to stage a protest against the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission’s decision of July 10 in the central square of Chisinau starting at 10:00am
Starting at noon, motorcyclists will protest in the central square against the limitation of the right to ride along Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd.
