The Democratic Party (PDM) is the only political organization that started to work in Hâncești not today and that has definite accomplishments in this region. Ion Mereuță, who is the PDM’s candidate in the new parliamentary elections in constituency No. 38, was born and raised in Hâncești and knows best the problems and needs of the locals, the party’s president Pavel Filip stated in a news conference given alongside the Democrats’ candidate, IPN reports.
Pavel Filip said that unlike other politicians, the Democrats have always been present in Hâncești with definite accomplishments and always enjoyed the support of the locals. A representative of the PDM has managed the local mayor’s office for 16 years already. Ion Mereuță is a university professor and is now also a district councilor. He also served as the Filip Government’s representative in Hâncești, contributing directly to the implementation of the projects launched by the executive in the region.
Ion Mereuță said that together with the PDM’s team, he managed to collect the necessary signatures and was registered as a candidate for MP. He is the only candidate of those running in this constituency who is from Hâncești. He knows the needs of the locals and is ready to responsibly represent them in Parliament.
The CEC set new parliamentary elections in Hâncești for March 15 after Democratic MP Alexandru Botnari renounced the seat won in this constituency in favor of the post of mayor of the municipality of Hâncești in the November 3 runoffs.
