The Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) says it has already picked its candidate for President, namely Maia Sandu. The statement is in response to the invitation made earlier today by the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) to create a tripartite electoral bloc which would also include the Dignity and Truth Platform (PDA) and which would agree on a common presidential candidate for the November 1 election.
“It’s time to get rid of those who enrich themselves illegally at the expense of the people. The voters of PAS, of PDA, of PL, of PDM and PLDM alike are sick and tired of thieves. We urge all the people who want to get rid of kleptocracy and all the thieves led by Dodon to support Maia Sandu. This would be the true electoral bloc, a bloc of voters, not of political leaders, who are transitory,” PAS declared on its official Facebook page.
PLDM said in its statement that PAS and PDA should realize the “threat that the foreign policy vector could be deviated and the European Integration course abandoned,” inviting them to join forces in the presidential campaign.
