Over 90 wineries united under the country wine brand “A living legend” will take part in the National Wine Day, which will take place this year under the slogan “Our wine conquers the world”. During October 7 and 8, workshops with wine and brandy tastings will be held in the Great National Assembly Square, completed by musical entertainment shows.
Elizaveta Breahnă, director of the National Vine and Wine Office, said that visitors will have the opportunity to get to know not only the wines, but also the teams involved in making them. Participants in the Wine School, which can be attended by everyone based on a ticket purchased on the organizers’ website, will be instructed how to taste the wine. This year, the focus will be on varietal wines produced from local varieties.
Along with local winemakers, producers from neighboring Ukraine will present their wines.
Elizaveta Breahnă noted that wine is beneficial only when consumed in moderate amounts: “Wine is not only a food product, but also a cultural one. To enjoy it, a culture of responsible consumption is key”.
Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, stated that ministers of agriculture from several countries will be present at the National Wine Day. The presence of these distinguished guests will give a distinguished tone to the celebration, as the ministers of the celebration are some of the best promoters of agricultural production.
The organizers expect no less than 80 thousand visitors to the Grand National Assembly Square and around 20 thousand tourists to the country’s wineries.
The National Wine Day is organized by the National Vine and Wine Office, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Ministry of Culture, with the support of the strategic partner USAID Moldova, through the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project.
