During the next 12 months, more than 700 children will be supported to live alongside their parents, regardless of the economic context, in the framework of the social campaign “With Care for Children” that was launched by the family support program “Child, Community, Family”, IPN reports.
In a press release, CCF Moldova says the pandemic significantly contributes to a worrying rise in the number of children who risk being separated from the family. According to statistics, before the current crisis each tenth child was affected by extreme poverty. During the first three weeks of October alone, 28 children were included in the family support program, as opposed to 71 children included in the first nine months of the year. “This is an alarmingly high number for the organization and for the local authorities that do not have sufficient financial resources to support the vulnerable families. We realize that poverty has affected more families in our country and the danger increases daily, triggering violence, abuse, use of alcohol and other substances,” says the press release.
CCF Moldova calls on the business community to establish sustainable partnerships and on each citizen of the country who can donate to make donations on the organization’s platform.
Within the campaign, until December 5, there will be held the TV concert Generosity Gala 2020, the seventh edition, alongside the organization’s patron Valentina Nafornița, Christmas Jumper Day – a recreational activity to donate a jumper, Christmas Cards that enable to send warm thoughts to those who are not at home through greetings painted by children.
For 16 years, CCF Moldova has been working to reform the child protection system in Moldova and offer every child a family. Thanks to its programs in all these years, 5,777 children have found a safe and protected family environment. Ten residential institutions have been closed by now, runs the press release.
