National beach football team demolished by Czech squad

The national beach football team of Moldova had a bad start in the Euro Beach Soccer League qualifiers, Division B. On June 21, they lost to the squad of the Czech Republic 3-9, IPN reports.

Even if Andrei Negara opened the score in the fifth minute, Moldova could not maintain the advantage. The Czechs profited from the mistakes of Moldova’s defense and took over the lead. Pavel Stejskal scored three goals.

Grigore Cojocari and the same Negara scored the other two goals for the team trained by Nicolai Mandrincenco.

In the other match of the group, England will meet Andorra. On June 22, Moldova play against England, while one day later against Andorra. The first two teams in the rankings qualify for the final stage.

The national beach football team achieved the best result in the 2010 World Championship qualifiers, when they finished first in the group owing to the victories against Poland, Norway, and Austria, and were eliminated in the 1/8 finals by Spain.
