Moldovan footballers prepare for European Cups

The Moldovan teams continue to prepare for the football season. The most active ones are the teams that will represent the country in the European Cups. Sheriff Tiraspol on June 19 played the first friendly match this summer, drawing 2-2 with Milsami Orhei, IPN reports.

One of the goals for Sheriff was scored by Bulgarian striker Ismail Isa, who recently signed for the Tiraspol team, IPN reports.

Before entering the Champions League qualifiers, Sheriff will play a friendly against Chernomorets Ukraine and another one against Tom Russia. Meanwhile, Sheriff announced that it transferred Bulgarian goalkeeper Georgi Georgiev from FC Tiraspol, fullback Djibril Paye from Guinea, and Brazilian Willian Celestino da Silva.

For its part, Milsami scheduled five exhibition matches and already played two of them. Their only significant ‘acquisition’ is halfback Gheorghe Andronic.

FC Tiraspol beat Dinamo-Auto 2-1 in a friendly. The holder of Moldova’s Cup announced on its website that it signed fullbacks Dumitru Popovici and Artiom Haceaturov as well as a group of young players from Sheriff.

Dacia Chisinau also makes changes in its composition. Dumitru Popovici, Igor Costrov, Ales Schuster, Ustin Cerga, Victor Comlionoc and Alexandru Chiciuc left the team. But Dacia borrowed Gheorghe Obseannicov, Iuri Shevel and Ibrahim Camara from Olimpia Balti.

The draw for the first qualifying rounds of the Champions League and Europa League will be held in Switzerland’s Nyon on June 24.
