Moldova won against Liechtenstein 2-0 in the last match of Group D of the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League. Both of the goals were scored by Victor Stînă in overtime, IPN reports.
The team trained by Sergey Kleshchenko finished second in the Group with 13 points. Latvia tops also with 13 points as it outstripped Moldova owing to a better goal average in the direct matches, 5-4. Andorra scored 8 points, while Liechtenstein – 0.
Moldova manager Sergey Kleshchenko used the following players in the match against Liechtenstein: Chelyadnik, Bolohan (Posmac 81), Armaș, Ioniță, Moțpan (Postolachi 57), Nicolaescu (Stînă 76), Damașcan, Belousov (Cojocaru 81), Crăciun, S.Platica, Rață.
“I’m satisfied. I wanted the fans to see a team that fights for victory till the end,” said Sergey Kleshchenko.
Moldova is now to play friendly matches against Azerbaijan and Romania in November.
