The Republic of Moldova will continue supporting the Ukrainian refugees housed in Moldova, will strengthen the transportation capacities and the capacities to ensure transit via Moldova so as to organize freight transport corridors to and from Ukraine, said President Maia Sandu, who has paid a visit to Ukraine at the invitation of her counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, IPN reports.
“It is our moral obligation as neighbors and as friends to help them,” said President Sandu, noting that in the discussion she had in Kyiv with the President of Ukraine and his team, she expressed her admiration for the courage with which the Ukrainians defend their homeland from the Russian aggression.
According to Maia Sandu, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine will cooperate in the economic and energy sectors and on the path of accession to the European Union. “The citizens of our countries deserve to have a peaceful and prosperous life in the European family and it is our duty to offer the people such a future,” stated the official.
The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu has made a visit to Ukraine at the invitation of her Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. The Moldovan presidential press service didn’t specify for how long the official will stay in the neighboring country.
