The candidate of the Socialist Party for Chisinau mayoralty, Ion Ceban, signed today, September 13, a public commitment by which he assumes as a priority addressing himself to the problems of the city dwellers, reports IPN.
"The mayor must have the right attitude and a clear understanding of the current and long term challenges of Chisinau municipality. An overall vision for four, six, eight, twelve years and more is needed. This vision will determine the actions that the mayor will take ”, declared the candidate at a press conference held in "Maria Bieșu" National Opera and Ballet Theatre square.
Ion Ceban says that people want to live well in a clean city, to feel safe, to have the opportunity to work in the areas they like and to be properly remunerated for what they do. The candidate has made a commitment not to tackle issues of geopolitics, language, history and so forth, which have no direct connection with the administration of the municipality.
He pledged to use all legal instruments to prevent the adoption of decisions harmful to the interests of the inhabitants of Chisinau and the development of the city. Ion Ceban announced that he would use all the authority of mayor-general to prevent the voting of "package" decisions. He will also urge the municipal councillors to thoroughly examine each project on the agenda and to involve civil society experts in the examination.
The candidate says that in the coming days he will present his Chisinau municipality administration program, which will include the "priorities and solutions to the problems of the city - serious problems accumulated over the years when it was poorly administered".
