President Igor Dodon says that half a year ago he could not have imagined that besides the Presidency, the Socialists will head the Parliament, designate the Government and run the Chisinau City Hall. The head of state maintains that the PSRM did not aim at this, but that circumstances were created.
"We currently have a stable team of people who think in the same way about running the Parliament, the Government, the Presidency and the Chisinau City Hall. This is also a huge responsibility. It is no longer possible to put our failures on somebody else’s shoulders," stressed the head of state on a NTV Moldova special edition.
Igor Dodon says the Socialists have got the chance to prove that they can make changes. The head of state promises that these changes will be made and mentions that the citizens should notice them by September 1, next year.
The president says that the current Government, invested yesterday by the Parliament, could work until the end of the current legislative’s term. " Mr. Chicu’s government can work in peace until the expiry of this Parliament’ mandate, February 2023 and deliver results. We will strive for this executive to last the entire term,” continued Igor Dodon.
The head of state maintains that to the ministries will return the professionals who worked there previously, no matter what parties they were members of and no matter how they left their positions, whereas most of those who were employed by the previous Government will have to go "if they are not professionals". "We have to admit that in many ministries there is chaos, not at the lower, but at the middle level. They put in charge of the ministries people that studied at Harvard and who brought with them similar people, they destroyed the institutional memory and blocked all the ministries. Now we will return them. We don't have much time, in a week and a half we have to purge the institutions and start working”, concluded Igor Dodon.
The head of state has announced that this morning will be held the first meeting of the new cabinet of ministers which he will attend.
