Four persons will stand trial for hampering the signing over a Chisinau apartment to the value of 800,000 lei to the legal heir. These helped a false heir came into possession of the apartment, IPN reports.
The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases said the accused – three women and a man from Chisinau – are aged between 37 and 67. Among them is the woman who organized and benefitted from the swindle. This is a citizen of Moldova and Russia aged 63 with higher education.
The woman has known the 83-year victim since her father lived with this woman in concubinage. The old woman’s grandson, who at that moment was in jail, was the only legal heir of the apartment.
Not long before the apartment owner’s death, in the spring of 2021, the organizer of the swindle who periodically visited the old woman came into possession of the woman’s IDs and hid them. This way, the old woman was unable to pass the apartment to her grandson by inheritance.
In two months of the old woman’s death, the 63-year-old woman persuaded the other three accomplices to act as witnesses to the writing of the will in the name of the owner, dated before her death and with a forged signature.
The apartment and the bank accounts of the swindler were sequestrated. She was placed under house arrest and faces seven to ten years in jail.
