The first EU Information Center called Europe Café was officially opened in a virtual format in Chisinau. Located in central Chisinau, Europe Café aims to become a connection place for the communication and visibility of the EU, offering the public different information about the EU and its cooperation with the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
The center was inaugurated by EU Ambassador to Moldova Peter Michalko, with the online partition of ambassadors of EU Member States.
Europe Café was conceived as a center of communication and information where all those interested can find out more about the European Union and the Member States, their history and culture and the assistance offered for the benefit of the Moldovan citizens through projects and programs of the EU and its Member States that together act as “Team Europe”.
“I’m delighted to announce the online opening of Europe Café in Chisinau. Despite the difficult times through which we are going, we want to show once again that the European Union and the Member States remain close to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. Owing to the current safety measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic, for now we would like to offer the citizens the option of an online experience of Europe Café. We hope that this place will become a welcoming place for people where they will find interesting events and information about the EU and its Member States,” stated Peter Michalko, being quoted in a press release.
The EU ambassadors noted that Europe Café will become a space where the culture and assistance of the EU Member States will be presented to the public.
The first exhibition hosted by Europe Café is entitled “EU-Moldova: Stronger Together”. The photo exhibition presents success stories of beneficiaries of programs financed by the EU in the Republic of Moldova – people who, with European support, are capable of improving their daily life.
Europe Café will be open to visitors during specific events and during the weekly work program. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the access will be restricted so as to ensure the observance of the safety regulations.
