Many of the cases of infection with the novel coronavirus among healthcare workers occur because these incorrectly use the protective equipment. Health specialists will formulate strict guidelines for the medical personnel. A control group will be set up to determine how the healthcare workers implement the required measures, Minster of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu was quoted by IPN as saying.
After the meeting of the National Focal Point, the minister said the personnel of the pre-hospital medical assistance system were supplied with protective equipment, but this equipment is not used correctly, including when putting it on and taking it out. Cases of infection were also recorded in medical institutions that do not focus on infections with COVID-19. It happened so at the Clinical Psychiatric Hospital as the protection measures there were ignored.
Viorica Dumbrăveanu said that before and after the institution of the state of emergency, training seminars for medical staff were staged, but specialists will now provide strict regulations.
Almost 350 cases of infection among healthcare workers, including paramedics and pharmacists, have been reported by now.
