A boy aged four fell from the seventh floor of an apartment building situated in Balti when he was left unsupervised for a moment. He was admitted to the Balti Clinical Hospital in a very serious state. It was later decided to transfer him to the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau by the Aviasan service.

The General Police Inspectorate said it was established that the window in the room was open and the child, leaning against the insect screen, fell out. An investigation is under way.

Contacted by IPN for details, Andreea Galici, spokeswoman for the Balti Clinical Hospital, said the child was admitted in an extremely serious condition and it was shortly decided to transport him to Chisinau by Aviasan.

Spokesman for the Mother and Child Institute Maxim Cazacu has told IPN that the boy suffered pelvic fractures and spleen rupture. He was operated and is under post-surgical rehabilitation. The child is in a serious, but stable state.
