Broad activities to support the victims and to heighten the awareness of sexual harassment will be conducted in the course of April. Communities will be taught to prevent and report cases of violence. The activities form part of the campaign “Together we say NO to sexual harassment” that was launched in connection with the international Sexual Assault Awareness Month, IPN reports.
The initiative belongs to the Center “Partnership for Development”, the editorial office of moldova.org and the National Coalition “Life without Violence”.
The campaign’s mission is to inform people of all ages from the Republic of Moldova about sexual harassment, its forms of manifestation and how it can be reported. The campaign organizers aim to mobilize as many people as possible and to present methods of preventing and combating sexual harassment during a month. Special attention will be devoted to sexual harassment in educational institutions and at the workplace.
According to the organizers, anyone can join the mission of the campaign. An own event can be also staged in the community, such as discussions in the local school or at the workplace, solidary marches, flashmob meetings or any other event by which to disseminate useful information about this phenomenon.
Those interested can also join the campaign Red My Lips by painting the lips red in solidarity with the victims of sexual violence and against the myths about rape. For the purpose, they will publish a photograph with red lipstick or paint on the social media with #RedMyLipsMoldova.
