624 new cases of COVID-19, second highest anti-record so far

As many as 624 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Moldova on August 25. This is the second highest anti-record so far. Seven persons died from the disease, taking the death toll to 967, IPN reports.

Secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection Constantin Rymish said that 3,407 tests were done today and 28 of the 624 confirmed cases are among healthcare workers. Four are import cases, being brought from Turkey (two), Bulgaria, and France.

A number of 526 patients with COVID-19 are in a serious state and 33 were connected to mechanical ventilation.

Chief state sanitary inspector Vasile Guştiuc said that 103 entities were subject to surprise inspections the past week and different violations were identified in at least 21 cases.

Moldova by now has got 34,900 infections with the novel coronavirus.
