A number of 285 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Moldova on July 1. As many as 2,246 tests for COVID-19 were done today, with 1,513 of them being primary ones. Four persons lost the battle with the disease, IPN reports.
In a press briefing, Konstantin Rymish, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, said 109 of the 285 new cases were recorded in the municipality of Chisinau. Twenty new cases were confirmed in the Transnistrian region. Thirteen cases of infection are among healthcare workers. The number of infected health professionals thus rose to 2,429.
More than 100,000 tests have been done by now and the number of those confirmed with the virus came to 16,898, together with those who recovered. The death toll stands at 549. Of the patients with COVID-19, 438 are in a serious state and 30 of them were put on a ventilator. Those who got cured total 9,594.
