Monitoring the implementation of the public administration reform and resource distribution
The Moldovan politicians didn’t react to the altercations witnessed within the solidarity march “Without fear”, which was mounted in Chisinau on May 22, because they do not know the European values. Such a statement was made in the talk show “Politics” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.
Ex-MP Stela Jantuan said the lack of reaction on the part of the Moldovan politicians shows that these are far from the European values. “When they voted the Association Agreement with the EU, they did it with the eyes closed, only for improving their image. They voted the Law on Equality of Chances for the same purpose. They do not know the essence of human rights and European values,” she stated.
Arcadie Barbarosie, executive director of the Institute for Public Policy, also considers the Moldovan politicians do not know the real European values. “The parties should have stated their position. But they avoided doing it because they don’t know the European values. The fact that they kept silence shows they are pro-Europeans in statements only,” he said.
Viorel Cibotaru, ex-minister of defense, said the authorities should have reacted because what happened during the May 22 march included elements of a hybrid war. “There were representatives of the left extreme and the right extreme and of religious organizations there. The authorities should have taken attitude to this,” he noted.
