Three missing SMURD crew members found dead

The other three crew members of the SMURD helicopter that collapsed in Cantemir district in the afternoon of June 2 were found dead. Nicolae Papis, of the Cahul Prosecution Division, has told IPN that the three persons and the first victim are citizens of Romania.

The victims – a woman and three men – were all carbonized. The police fenced the crash area and a mobile team of experts from Chisinau is to examine the scene.

Sources in the mayor’s office of Haragis village, where the tragedy happened, stated for IPN that it was pouring rain in the village and the visibility was bad when the helicopter crashed. This flied close to the roofs of houses.

The helicopter exploded in the air and fell down near Haragis village of Cantemir district, about 100 meters from a local food. Initially, it was announced that a crew member died, while three went missing.
