Belarus donates tractors and special vehicles to seven Moldovan communities

Belarus donated five tractors and two special vehicles for seven Moldovan communities. Next week, these will be delivered to five villages, two towns and to the ATU Gagauzia. President Igor Dodon announced this during a visit paid in concert with the President of Belarus Alexandr Lukashenko to the Phitotechny Institute “Porumbeni” in Criuleni district, IPN reports.

The two Presidents got onto a sower pulled by a tractor made in Belarus and sowed symbolically several rows of corn. Igor Dodon said Moldova needs not only Belarusian tractors, but also units of transport. “Belarusian tractors are successfully assembled in our country and this activity has good prospects,” he stated.

Alexandr Lukashenko said specialists from the agricultural sector of Belarus have cooperated with the Phitotechny Institute “Porumbeni” for many years. He was glad to find out that they make not only corn hybrids, which are bought by Belarus, but also hybrids of other plans here. “Surely, we also use the seeds produced in our country, but these cannot be compared with those from Moldova given that Belarus is situated more northward,” he stated.

Alexandr Lukashenko noted they are glad that the Belarusian tractors and other machinery are popular with Moldovan producers. “It is new, last generation equipment. That’s why we will continue to work with pleasure with you. We will not only supply our tractors to Moldova, but will also make some here and the first steps in this direction have been taken. We will step up the efforts,” he said.

At the end of the meeting, Igor Dodon invited Alexandr Lukashenko to visit again Moldova in autumn, when the whole country, including his native village Sadova, will make wine from the new grape harvest.
