TV channels affiliated to PDM and PSRM are exclusively propaganda channels, opinion

The TV channels affiliated to the Democratic Party (PDM) and the government and those affiliated to the Party of Socialists (PSRM) and President Igor Dodon are exclusively propaganda channels. Also, the retransmission of some of the Russian TV channels also means propaganda, Valentin Dolganiuc, a member of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” stated in the talk show “Expertise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.

According to him, currently there are two types of propaganda in the Republic of Moldova, internal and external, and these are equal in value. “External propaganda is the geopolitical propaganda launched by Russia in the ex-Soviet space where it wants to have full control. The internal propaganda led to the perpetuation of an organized criminal group in power,” stated Valentin Dolganiuc.

Activist Valeriu Pasa noted the manipulation through the mass media should disappear because this is manipulation, not because it is produced in Russia, Moldova or elsewhere. The authors of the bill to amend the Broadcasting Code needed a legal reason to adopt the law in a simple form. “They analyzed the content of TV channels, but didn’t ban these because they are propaganda channels. They looked for a legal solution to approve a simple law that would not generate questions about the quality of broadcasting inside the country,” stated Valeriu Pasa.

Spokesman for the Liberal Democratic Party Ion Terguta said the Moldovan authorities excluded from Moldova’s public sphere a Russian opposition TV channel as well. “The problem is that when you remove all the federal channels from the Republic of Moldova and leave only an opposition channel, you come into conflict with the Government of Russia,” he stated.
