U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink is visiting Chisinau during March 6-8. The U.S. Embassy in Chisinau said the goal of the visit is to express the support for the European course chosen by Moldova and to encourage the implementation of the key reforms needed to achieve this objective, IPN reports.
The U.S. official will have meetings with Government officials, representatives of civil society and political leaders of the opposition.
The U.S. Embassy also said that as the Special Representative of the United States to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format, Bridget Brink will urge Moldova to continue making progress in the negotiations.
